The Best Motorized Folding Running Boards for a 2014 Chevy Silverado 3500 Crew Cab Diesel

Hi Im interested in electronic folding running boards: Shadetree Automotive in White Salmon Washington we have purchased a few hitches from you in the past. First the truck is 2014 Crew cab Chevy Durmax diesel 3500 truck with DPF tank on passenger side Looks like you may have a few models to fit it one with wireless sensors the other must be wired into door latch ? First Im not opposed to locating the wires from the door switches over having a sensor to fail or be damaged on the outside of the cab etc. Any thing other than that different between those. Or are there other options Next the photo is kind of generic it shows bolts through the pinch weld at the bottom. Of the cabs body but the description said some to the effect that they mount directly to the actual frame is that the case and the bolts I saw in the pinch weld below the doors is either not there on this model or is additional support? Any thoughts on that I installed a pair of short running boards on one a while back that mounted to the pinch weld and inner part of the cab I was not impressed with it it rocked under my weight .

Hello Shadetree Automotive. I will be happy to help you out.
First, for the 2014 Chevy Silverado 3500 Crew Cab diesel you will need Bestop PowerBoards # B7514615. I have confirmed with Bestop that these will fit the 2014 models. The other versions of the PowerBoards are not a confirmed fit for the 2014 diesel models.
Most running boards do mount to the rocker panels/pinch weld but only because the frame rails of the truck are too far underneath the vehicle. Brackets to go from the frame out to where the running boards would be would be so long that they would put a lot of stress and torque on the frame and connection points for the brackets that they could easily break.
