The Best Trailer Hitch for 2012 Ford Escape to Use Folding Trailer Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier
Question:
question in reference the receiver hitch to the carrier . which receiver hitch is best suited for this product to make sure that there is the proper amount of clearance to raise the wheel chair carrier in the up position. Just want to clarify that I am going to purchase the correct receiver mount for the car and the carrier.

For your 2012 Ford Escape I recommend Curt trailer hitch # 13650. When installed on a 2012 Ford Escape we found that it measured 1 inch from the center of hitch pin hole to the back of the bumper. I have linked a video showing installation and the measurement for you.
The Flint Hill Goods 30" x 50" Wheelchair Carrier w/ 48" Ramp - 2" Hitch # FHG77ZR measures 4-3/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier when folded up. This means that it will clear the rear bumper on your 2012 Ford Escape. I have included a link to a video review of the cargo carrier as well.
