Bike Rack for Heavy Bikes That Will Fit Both 1-1/4-Inch and 2-Inch Hitches
Question:
Hi, I have a 2018 Nissan Rogue with your 2-inch hitch e98846. It was easy to put on. We just got two heavy electric bikes. They are heavier than I had expected them to be and I just found out my hitch rack can't handle their weight - 60-lbs each. So now I'm stuck because our other car has a 1-1/4-inch hitch and we need to be able to use one bike rack in both my wife's Prius and my Rogue. Any ideas? I don't mind getting a new rack but I don't want to have to buy two of them!!! Guess I should have done more planning.

I understand your situation, and don't worry, because I have a single bike rack solution that will handle your heavier electric bikes AND also fit in both of your vehicles' hitches.
The Thule EasyFold 2-Bike Platform Carrier # TH903202 is the perfect 2-bike rack for your requirements. It is perhaps the most thoroughly-engineering bike carrier on the market, with a mix of features that make it pretty much unmatched in terms of convenience and flexibility.
For starters, the EasyFold fits Class I, Class II and Class III hitches, which means both the 1-1/4-inch hitch on the wife's Prius and the new 2-inch hitch on your Rogue. It has a high 65-lb weight rating for each of the two loaded bikes. It also features built-in locks for the rack itself and a lock for your two bikes. A foot-operated tilt lever allows the rack to pivot down to give you easier access to the vehicles and included with the rack is a self-stowing loading ramp (!) so you never have to actually lift the full weight of the bikes - just roll them up and down and then store the ramp inside the rack.
Add the rack's fairly light 45-lb weight, its ability to fold up to a compact size AND the built-in wheels for easily moving it around the garage and you have one heck of a bike carrier that can stay with you well into the future no matter what vehicles and bikes you might own. The included video and photo call out these features. Buy it once, buy it right. Highly recommended.
