What is the Difference Between Hopkins # HM47365 and Pollak # PK12716 Wiring Adapters

Question:

I have a 2012 GMC Acadia with the towing package and need to connect to trailer with 4 way plug. Would either the HM47365 or the PK12716 work? What is the difference between the two?

Helpful Expert Reply:

Both the Hopkins # HM47365 and Pollak # PK12716 wiring adapters allow a tow vehicle with a 7-way blade-style trailer socket to connect to a trailer that is equipped with a 4-pole flat connector. Both plug in to the socket on the vehicle and provide a receptacle for a 4-pole flat trailer connector. The difference between them is that the Pollak adapter is a single piece while the Hopkins adapter uses two separate sections linked by a short length of wiring.

In some applications these flexible leads may allow for more convenient connection to your trailer.
