Will the 24x60 Cargo Carrier Work on my 2004 Ford Explorer Without Blocking my Taillights
Question:
Will the C18153 work on my 2004 Ford Explorer without affecting my lights? Also will I be able to access the back of my vehicle while it is attached.

As long as the Curt 24x60 Cargo Carrier, # e98874, is in the folded down position, you will have no problem with the carrier obstructing the taillights or the ability to access the cargo area on your 2004 Ford Explorer. Although the carrier will not affect these, the size and amount of cargo that is added to the carrier will. You will want to make sure that any taller cargo is placed in the middle of the rack to avoid blocking the taillights. Taller cargo could also limit access to the rear cargo area.
When the carrier is in the folded up position, you will not have access to the rear cargo area and with an outside dimension of 61-9/16 inches, this carrier may block a small portion of the taillights. I recommend that you measure the back of your Explorer to determine exactly how much of the taillight would be blocked when the carrier is in the folded up position.
If you are still concerned about blocking the tail lights, you could go with a carrier that has an optional light kit like the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs, Item # 63153. The light kit is # 20174.
This carrier comes with an anti-rattle hitch pin. It can be locked with the part # 399047.
