What Should I do with a Wheel Chair Ramp that Has No Hole to Secure the Shank in the Hitch

Question:

I have a 2 Reese hitch on my Odyssey Van and have to attach an 1 1/4 tongue for an electric ramp for a wheelchair into the 2 hitch. There is a 4 long 1 1/4 tongue on the ramp but no pin hole to hold the ramp into the receiver. What do I have to do, drill a hole in the 1 1/4 tongue to the pin to hold it in place when I drive the van with the wheelchair ramp and chair on the back of the car? Is the HT02 the product that I need?

Brophy 2 Inch Reducer Sleeve, part # HT02, is the right product to use to step your 2 inch hitch down to a 1-1/4 inch hitch.

As far as drilling the shank on wheel chair ramp, you should call the manufacturer of the ramp. Usually drilling or otherwise modifying a shank is something that should not be done, but some parts require it. Do call the manufacturer of the ramp and see what they say before you do anything to the ramp shank.
