Are ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tires in Load Range D Still Available

Question:

Hello, I Asked a question about tires a last week around June 3, 2014 And the Expert Michael H. replied and recommended that i buy the Tire # AM10210 which was a great to get a part number to the exact tire i needed to buy and use. I started looking to buy the tire locally so i could get it installed where i bought it, but nobody carries the Load D tire in this size and one company went as far as telling me that those tires were discontinued. ? Are those tires discontinued, if i buy the tires from etrailer am i going to get tires that have been on the shelf for a while? I know that a tire has a certain shelf life before they start drying out, then eventually get brittle, crack then pop. How old are your tires? i really want to buy them but why doesnt anybody else carry these tires? Not even Camping World. The tires i have now are the ST175/80R13 load C and the name on the tire is Super Cargo. Every body carries load C tires but nobody carries Load D tires

You can get a tire mounted to a wheel at any tire shop regardless of where you buy it so why not buy it from us!

The ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10210 is not discontinued. This is still a common trailer tire size. It sounds like you went to a regular tire shop that does not deal in trailer tires. This used to be a passenger vehicle tire size but hasn't been for a long time. That is likely the issue.

But you can't use passenger vehicle tires on a trailer and vice versa. They are constructed differently. Trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall to handle more vertical load. Passenger vehicle tires are not.

Since the ST175/80R13 is still a readily available trailer tire which is still mass produced, you are not going to get some old tires that have been sitting on a shelf. I wouldn't even let a bad tire out the door. But that hasn't ever happened so I am confident that you will happy with the tires.
