Can Load Resistors be Used on a Mercedes with a CANBUS Electrical System
Question:
1 Can this be used on Mercedes for brake ligts? As you know, Mercedes has CANBUS on board. 2 Also. does these ceramic load resisters produce heat as te aluminium load resistors?

Expert Reply:
Load resistors such as # DI34ZR just create more current draw on a circuit. The constant draw should be compatible with the CANBUS system on your Mercedes but it is possible that the vehicle computer may consider it a short and throw a warning. They are used primarily to fix hyper flashing on LED lights used in the turn signals. Aluminum cooling fins will disapate the heat faster, but this will not be an issue in RV installations.
If you happen to be having a problem with LED trailer lights when towing with the Mercedes then there is a simple solution. There are special adapters you can use so that when you tow a trailer with LED lights with the Mercedes it will not give you the bulb out error. For a 7-Way to 7-Way use # 20142 and for a 7-Way to 5- or 4-Way use # C35FR.
