Hey James,
If the manual override slide on your brake controller isn't working but the brake controller is working when you have the brakes depressed the only troubleshooting you can really do is making sure that it has 12v power and a proper ground. If the power is fine and you have proper ground then the brake controller is likely bad and in need of replacement. If this is a OEM Ram brake controller you'll need to reach out to Ram for a direct replacement. We offer aftermarket brake controller options that can override the OEM brake controller and essentially turn it off. If you'd like to go this route then just let me know and I'd be happy to pick out a replacement for you.
