Blue Ox TrackPro or Fastway e2 For 3,500 lb Trailer
Question:
I have a 2012 Acura MDX with factory tow package rated to 5000lb. I plan to tow a 2400lb dry, 3500lb GVWR trailer. What weight distribution hitch do you recommend? I may upgrade to a new awd pilot so I would like it to be compatible with that. I have been looking at Blue Ox TrackPro vs fastway e2.

Hi Art,
You have a couple good options there, but between the Blue Ox TrackPro and Fastway e2, go with the former, from Blue Ox. The correctly rated hitch for a 3,500 lb trailer is the following:
- Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BLU36FR
While both systems have 2 points of sway control, what I really like about the TrackPro compared to the Fastway is its ease of use. The TrackPro is easily lubricated with grease zerks, unlike the Fastway, and has a hitch head with preset pitch for the hitch ball to be level so you don't have to make any adjustments to it. The Fastway, on the other hand, requires you to find the perfect angle by adding and removing a bunch of washers, which is an aggravating process.
The TrackPro even comes with a 2" hitch ball already installed. That said, if your trailer uses a 2-5/16" ball you can just replace it with 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6120.
