Troubleshooting Battery Drain on 2017 Jeep Cherokee When Flat Towing  

Question:

2017 Jeep Cherokee has a Recreational Wire Harness installed by Dealer to prevent Death Wobble. It has a fuse in the engine compartment AND a switch in the console. If the fuse is not removed the battery is dead in a few hours. That is with the console switch off. Karl Hutchinson

Hi Karl; to keep your battery from dying you can add the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25. This provides 15 amps of power to maintain the battery while towing. A charge line should have been installed as part of your wiring regardless of the Mopar harness. If your RV doesn't have a charge line you will also need the # RM-156-75.
