Height Difference Between Curt C15302 and Factory Chevy 2006 2500hd Receiver
Question:
I am trying to figure out what the height difference between the curt 15302 and the factory hitch on my 06 Silverado 2500hd. It appears from pictures on the manufactures website that the 15302 sits an inch or two higher than factory. I have several hitches set up for the current height of the truck and cannot go much taller without buying new hitches.

The Curt Hitch part # C15302 will fit very tight to your rear bumper. It would be hard for me to venture a guess as to how much higher it would sit than your factory hitch. But I can give you a way for you to figure it out.
When installed, the # C15302 will sit 2.625 inches below the mounting surface it attaches to on the frame of your 2006 Chevy Silverado. You can compare that to the same dimension for your factory hitch to determine the hitch height difference.
If you find that you need to get new ball mounts check out the FAQ article I attached on how to pick out the correct rise/drop ball mount first.
