Great hitch. Very heavy duty. Holding up very well. Definitely worth the money. Made towing feel a lot better do to where and how it hooks to the frame.

2004 Chevrolet Silverado

Fits great on my quad cab (4 full doors with short box) 2004 silverado 2500hd 4x4 with the exception of the middle hole not located in the correct spot and will need to get drilled out on the frame (see pics for center hole). A blueprint from center of hole to center of hole would be very helpful for anyone else trying to figure out if this and others will work for their application. Mine back to front was 0 at first hole, then 6 1/2 inches then 14 1/2 inches (yes, the big hole is used). Hitch comes with middle hole being at 7 1/4 inches. Side to side on mine was 39 1/4 inches center to center and the hitch was the same. Hoping this helps others out. Great packaging and fast shipping. Customer service was top notch! Will definitely continue to order thru these folks. Very heavy duty hitch! Highly recommend!

I feel very confident that this class 5 hitch will handle all my towing needs with no problem!
Customer service was GREAT! Korren was an awesome help in getting the product, delivery ws very fast....
Thank you etrailer!

2007 GMC Sierra

I just got it delivered and I will install it on my nephews truck in the next few days. The hitch looks very well built compared to the hitch on my 2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD. I would buy this receiver for my truck if I needed one.

2006 Chevrolet Silverado

Cant say much besides that it doesn't fit with a ranch-hand bumper. It’s just been sitting in my garage for a year. Ive been using the factory receiver.

I was very happy with way etrailer handled a shipping problem. great company, would definitely purchase from them again

by:

It fit perfectly. Fast shipping. Recommend it for anybody

by:

Fits and looks great and easy to install. Would be nice if there was some way to mount the stock trailer electrical connection with out having to fabricate it.

by:

I have ordered from e trailer before and this time was not different. Excellent service. Knowledgeable people that help you.

by:

Very well built hitch. Somewhat of an easy install. Had to ream out one of the holes a little bit to get one of the blots in.

by:

Nicely made. Factory one was whimpy and weak looking. I pull a 10k trailer everywhere. Hitch safety chain hookup is large enough to get my oversized hooks in. Over all I'm happy with it.

After a year of use, it continues to work just as designed. I have had no issues with it.

by:

Excellent product! Excellent service! We ordered on Monday about 6PM from Missouri and we received it by 6:30pm Wednesday in South Carolina. We were kept informed every step of the way. I couldn't believe how fast we got it. Answered all questions promptly also. I can't say enough good things about this company. Will definitely do business with them again if we need to.

Perfect fit for my 2006 Duramax! All hardware is included
This is one bad ass hitch!

by:
2006 GMC Sierra

Well built. What it should be. My gripes are not including two new bolts for the 14mm bolts and not having a pre-drilled spot for a 7 pin mount. Other than that the shipping was fast and the product is nice.

by:
2008 Chevrolet Silverado

I received the hitch , the product itself was great quality unfortunately the box was pretty banged up and the driver side did not line up well, it appeared to have been dropped at some point. I made it work after some tweaking but would have preferred not to have to mess with my new $[XX] hitch.

by:
2005 Chevrolet Silverado

Perfect fit for my 2005 2500 Silverado. The factory receiver only had 7500# capacity so I figured an upgrade to a class V was a good idea. I cut the plug bracket off of the old receiver and welded it to a piece of flat stock for easy mounting to the bumper.

Thanks for your business and your review, Mike! Just a quick note - while aftermarket hitches may have a higher capacity, the maximum capacity of a towing setup is limited to the capacity of the lowest-rated component.

by:
2009 Chevrolet Silverado

This hitch fit my 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 perfectly. The receiver slot is about 2.5 inches higher than the factor receiver that it replaced, which you may need to consider if you have a weight distribution hitch with bars that ride on a bracket on the trailer tongue instead of chains -you will need to reset those kinds of hitches for the new height. This is a very well-made hitch and was easy to install.

by:

Awesome hitch. Wicked heavy duty. Replaced the factory hitch on my 2005 2500HD Sierra with this unit. Simple bolt on, I was up and running in under in hour with removing the old one and installing this one. Also fits perfect with the 2016 rear step bumper I retrofitted.

by:

Pretty nice upgrade to match truck’s real towing capacity.

by:

Arrived 3 days free shipping....
Installation
a snap although we have a lift !
Appreciate the bolt stays so it can be installed by just tightening but on underside no wrench on top needed !
Used on a 2005 Silverado 2500 with 6.6 Dura
Also included pic of original equipment ....broke 15 years later and much WORK

Product is great after 1 year no ptoblems !!!

Hitch installed in 20 minutes with air tools and a torque wrench. Looks great on the truck and is much stronger than the OEM hitch. Shipping was fast. Thank you Etrailer.

Hitch still looks new. We have pulled many heavy hauls with it in the last year and there have been zero issues. Last week we picked up a tow dolly and the safety chain hooks were to small to clip into the hitch. I used a pair of s-hooks. I didnt see this as a problem. Theres a lot meat in the safety hook area on the hitch as there should be. Theres a lot of meat to this hitch in general which is why I bought it. Great hitch for my 2500hd. Have hauled 12,000lbs confidentiality. Would recommend to anyone who asked.

by:

The hitch was an excellent fit. The only drawback is that there’s not a spot to mount the trailer plug I see where other people have welded something on it would just be nice if it had it. I plan on buying a bracket and mounting it to my bumper. It took about 30 minutes to install once I had all the tools together. Looks great

by:

Easy install and incredibly beefy and stout. I pull my flatbed and jeep wrangler unlimited to trails. Yesterday I just got home from towing to Hurricane, Utah and back. Rough roads big grades, no problems from any component of my trailer system.

by:

Great product, seems very well built. Install is incredibly easy, especially if you remove the spare tire as suggested. Truck is a 2007 2500 HD Classic Body CCSB.

Only side note is that there is less clearance between the hitch and exhaust, which could potentially be trouble if you are running an aftermarket 5” system (see photo). It still worked for me and overall I am very satisfied with the purchase.

  • What Size Hitch Pin Fits Curt Class V Trailer Hitch # C15302
Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2" Item # C15302 takes a 5/8 inch diameter pin such as # PC3. If you are using a 5/8 inch diameter pin then how much play is there between the pin and the hole? The hole has to be slightly larger than the pin in order for it to fit easily. But if it is really flopping around in there and/or is not long enough then you probably have a 1/2 inch pin.

  • Location of Curt Hitch C15302 on a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed and 7-Way Mounting Bracket
With Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15302 installed on a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 short bed the hitch will be in the same position as a factory hitch or at least within a fraction of an inch. By that I mean the receiver will be right under the rear bumper. To mount your 7-Way connector I like mounting box # 18159 for a clean look. I have linked a video of it for you. I have included a link to all of the 7-Way mounting devices we have.

Curt trailer hitch # C15302 is listed as a fit for your 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with the 6-1/2 foot bed. What may have occurred with your other hitch is a flexing issue. Sometimes in the shipping process a hitch can get flexed. • Will Curt Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15302 Fit with Oversized 285mm Width Spare Tire
According to my technical contact at Curt Manufacturing their Class V Hitch # C15302 will fit your truck, if it were equipped with a standard 265mm wide spare, with about an inch of extra space. The hitch was engineering with this tire size in mind. With your wider 285mm tire there will be no space between the tire and hitch. The hitch may still bolt up but not without at least contacting the tire.

  • Hitch Recommendation for a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 for Towing a 6,000 lb Trailer
It never hurts to have more hitch capacity than needed. The correct Class V hitch for your 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 though is the Curt Hitch part # C15323. This hitch would work great to tow your 6,000 lb trailer. However, you also need to check the owners manual of your truck to determine what Chevy lists as the capacity for your vehicle and be sure not to exceed the lower of the two capacities (hitch capacity vs. vehicle capacity) as your setup is only as strong as the weakest component...

  • Does Curt Class V Hitch C15302 Have Reinforced Hitch Pin Hole
The receiver tube on the Curt Class V hitch # C15302 does not have any reinforcement around the hitch pin hole. I went to our warehouse and checked this hitch to be sure. When this feature is included on a hitch it will usually be easy to see since it will be on the outside of the receiver tube. So long as you remain within the hitch and vehicle towing capacities and use the correct size hitch pin or lock you should not experience any rounding-out of the hitch pin hole on this Curt hitch.

  • Will Curt Trailer Hitch # C15302 Interfere With Under Bed Spare Tire on 2010 Silverado 2500 6.5 Bed
Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch # C15302 does have you reinstall your spare tire on your 2010 Chevy Silverado in step 6 of the installation instructions that are attached. If you need a ball mount kit, I recommend # EBMK2416 that comes with a 16K rated ball mount with a 3 inch rise or 4 inch drop, a 2 inch ball, a 2-5/16 inch ball, pin and clip, and a storage bag. Both of the Curt hitches that you listed are confirmed to fit your 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. The difference between the two can been seen in these hitches' features. The Curt Class V Hitch # C15302 that uses the 2 inch receiver opening, is the hitch that I recommend. The 2 inch opening is the more common size for use of a hitch accessory. • Why Does a Factory Class V Hitch on a GMC Sierra have Lower Capacities than Aftermarket Hitches
Most aftermarket Class V hitches will have higher ratings than factory hitches. Most aftermarket hitches have higher ratings than the vehicles they are designed for. Since your hitch is factory GMC probably just decided to put the rating that the vehicle has instead of just the hitch so as not to confuse people. Going with a hitch with a higher rating than what the vehicle is rated for would not give you additional capacity. You are only as strong as your weakest component. With that...
