Troubleshooting Hopkins Wiring Installation on a 2018 Mahindra Roxor

Question:

Hello I have wired in a Hopkins 48895 4 flat converter into a 2018 Mahindra Roxor with a XTC turn signal kit installed. I have a brake signal going to the red wire, white wire to ground, brown wire to taillights, yellow to left turn signal, green to right turn signal. My issue is I’m not getting any signal for brakes through the connector. Everything works but the brake lights. The brake lights get signal for a millisecond then it stops. I have tried two connectors and I get the same results for both. The trailer works perfect on the Chevy trailblazer, what am I doing wrong ?

Hey Brian, thanks for reaching out!

I recommend using a small circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to check and see what happens with your brake signal. It sounds like your Hopkins Tail Light Converter # HM48895 is correctly installed and that you might be overloading the brake circuit on your 2018 Mahindra Roxor. If the brake signals function just fine with the circuit tester then I believe you're needing a powered converter like the Curt # C59236 which powers all of the circuits directly from your vehicle battery.
