How far does the metal post go up into the PVC post?

I went to the warehouse and pulled one of the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons, part # CE27620 to take a measurement for you. When the PVC post is slipped over the arm of the guide-on, 12 inches of the upright arm is inside the PVC pipe.
