Finding Stoplight Circuit for Brake Controller Install Ford Dump Truck

Question:

I am wiring up the ETBC7 in conjunction with Tekonsha Voyager brake controller. This is on my 1988 Ford F600 dump truck, gas engine 370-2v. The problem I ran into is tapping into the brake light switch. I don’t think I am able to after reading up on it. I’m pretty sure the brakes and turn signals are on the same switch. And I can’t tap into that because the brake controller may activate when using the turn signals. There is no visible third brake light on this either because it’s a dump truck and the original chassis cab didn’t have one. What do I do? Thanks.

Hey Franco, we have an easy solution to provide a stoplight circuit on your dump truck with the Roadmaster Universal Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751000. Some vehicles have a hard time finding the stoplight circuit but this switch solves the problem.

Thanks Jameson. So, I just install this universal Stop light switch kit and then tap into the wire on it from my brake controller harness? Any better install videos on this road master kit? Thanks.

@Franco You are correct. You would just need to install the Roadmaster switch and then run the red wire of the brake controller to it and that portion of the brake controller install would be covered. I attached the only two install videos we have for this for you to check out as well as a link to the written instructions.
