Parts Needed To Flat Tow a 2014 Jeep Wrangler 2-Door

Question:

I have a 2014 jeep wrangler 2 door and am looking to set it up for flat towing. Are there any base plates that fit that do not require drilling into the frame?

All of the base plates for your 2014 Jeep Wrangler are going to require drilling. I do recommend going with the Roadmaster # RM-521448-5 which offers the direct connect arms. I prefer Roadmaster as they test their products more than any other manufacturer which is why they are one of the only manufacturers which do not require you to use a safety cable around the base plate and to the frame on your Jeep.

The Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar # RM-676 is our best seller with the added lights that make connecting and disconnecting much easier in low light conditions. You will want to use the Accessory Kit # RM-9284-2 along with the Battery Disconnect # RM-766 and Charge Line # RM-156-25 to take care of all the electrical requirements. The accessory kit has the wiring for your tail lights to operate from your tow vehicle, while the battery disconnect is a easy alternative to disconnect the battery when you flat tow. The charge line is still required to prevent a supplemental braking system from draining your battery while you are towing.

The Demco Stay- IN-Play # DM86VR(hydraulic brakes) and Air Force One # DM26VR(air brakes) are our best braking systems for ease of use and braking performance. You need to select the correct system depending on the brake type used on the towing vehicle.

You may need a High-Low adapter to keep the tow bars within 3" of level from your tow vehicle to the front of the Jeep. Here is a list of the different sizes we offer.

4" Rise/Drop # RM-048-4
6" Rise/Drop # RM-048-6
8" Rise/Drop # RM-048-8
10-1/4" Rise/Drop # RM-048-10
