Replacement Awning For A 2022 Forest River Pop Up Camper
Question:
I have a 2022 Flagstaff Forest River pop up camper that came with a Thule awning. The awning is almost impossible to use, as the poles attach to the SIDE of the trailer instead of resting on the ground when the awning is open. To lower the awning in the event of wind, you have to lower the camper! I would like to replace it with a different brand with the traditional pole on the ground style. Do you have one? The current one is 124 long.

Hello Ann, we do have a great option for replacing the awning on your 2022 Forest River Flagstaff pop up camper. I know you said you want a different brand, but Thule actually makes an awning that is exactly the size and style of awning you are looking for.
I suggest taking a look at the Thule HideAway Awning # TH490011. This is a 118" wide waterproof awning. It can be mounted directly to the existing sidewall area on your pop up. It uses two adjustable telescoping legs that can extend to make contact with the ground, instead of the side of the camper.
The awning kit also includes mounts for the side of the camper, so that if you are in a place such as a parking lot where you cannot put stakes into the ground the awning can be supported by the camper. Either way, you will be able to extend or retract the awning without having to lower the camper. It also uses a telescoping hand crank, so you can easily close the awning by yourself.
Not too long ago we actually installed the HideAway Awning on a similar pop-up camper. I have attached a few pictures below, as well as a link to our video review of this awning.
