What Valve Stem Will Fit The 8" Steel Trailer Wheel # AM20016 And Is Safe To Use Up To 100psi?
Question:
What is the valve stem hole diameter? I need a valve to fit that would work up to 100psi for my load D tires. Would these work with 5.70-8 D tires? The narrower version wheel is rated for less weight than the tire.

Expert Reply:
The Steel Trailer Wheel # AM20016 has a 0.453" diameter opening for a valve stem. Since you need up to 100psi I recommend using the Metal, Bolt-In Valve Stem # AM20906. This stem being metal is less likely to become damaged like rubber valve stems.
The 5.70-8 Tires # AM10010(B), # AM10012(C) and # AM10013(D) we carry do require a 8" x 3-3/4" Wheel # AM20006. Other tire manufacturers may allow this same size tire to fit the wider wheel but I do not have a way to verify with every tire manufacturer.
