How to Determine Correct Replacement For Sagging Trailer Leaf Springs
Question:
I have a few trailers I need to replace the leaf springs. One is a LONG the other a Load Rite. Both trailers have springs that are very sagged. How do I measure the spring to get the correct one if they are sagged almost straight. One is hook end the other a radius.

It's pretty easy to determine the correct replacement leaf springs for your trailers, and there's different ways for double-eye springs and slipper springs. You do have to account for the sag, so go with ones that measure shorter than what you currently have. There is't a formula for this but a good rule for springs that have really sagged a lot is about 1/2" or so shorter.
Then for double-eye springs all you need to do is measure your current leaf springs from center-to-center of the spring eyes, and for slipper springs measure from the center of the spring eye to the end of the spring.
For example, for 2,000 lb lb axles, if your double-eye springs measured 25-1/2" go with the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles - 26" Long # e77SR or if the slipper spring measured 24-1/8" go with 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles - 24-5/8" Long # e69SR
I have added a link below to our entire selection of both double-eye and slippler leaf springs, which you can filter through by length and capacity.
