In order to tow a trailer with brakes using your 2024 Nissan Rogue you will need a hitch, wiring, ball mount, and a brake controller. I recommend the following:
-etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e93ZR
-T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # TK76FR
-Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7
-Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness # RED52VR
-etrailer Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches # 989900
The etrailer hitch is a Class III hitch with a matte black finish. It has a max gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The Tekonsha T-One wiring harness will give you a 4-way to power trailer lights. Once you have your 4-way installed, you can upgrade to a 7-way using the # ETBC7. This kit comes with the adapter, wiring, and everything else required for installation.
After your 7-way is installed you will be ready to add a brake controller. The Liberty is a great option since the main unit installs behind the dash. Only the control knob will be visible giving it an OEM look that doesn't take up space. The knob controls the brake power and acts as the manual override.
I have attached some review and installation videos below.
