Parts Needed To Install a Trailer Mounted Trailer Brake Controller and 7-Way on a 2013 BMW X3
Question:
I have a 2013 Bmw X3 xdrive28i. I have been looking to put a brake controller onto it to tow a camper. I have seen that I will need the Tekonsha TK94FR. Will the modulite ZCI with a 4 flat to 7 blade adapter work?

I have another recommendation for you as both the Tekonsha ZCI and Prodigy RF are on an extended backorder and we are not sure when we will start seeing them come in again. First you will want to start by installing the Curt 4-Way # C59236 on your 2013 BMW X3 xDrive28i. Then you will need the 7-Way Kit # ETBC7L for connecting your camper with electric brakes. This kit allows you to connect to the 4-way but also includes wiring for a charge line which will provide power for the braking system as well. For the brakes you can use the Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller # 3430001 which will mount on the trailer similar to the Tekonsha you found but is wired in versus being plug and play.
