Drilling Out Hole to Install Sealed 2 Inch Round Trailer Clearance and Side Marker Light MC-53RB

Question:

hello I have seen previous comment that a 2and5 16th hole is needed to mount the 2 inch marker light. I cannot find a 2and5 16th hole sawbit. Will another size work? all I can find is a two and 1/2 inchor a 2 inch. they are about 20 bucks apiece so I dont want to have to buy 2. Thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:

A 2-1/2 inch hole saw would be too large for a 2-5/16 inch hole. So I recommend going with a 2 inch hole saw and gradually enlarging the hole with either the same hole saw or a rotary tool. Then you can do some test fits with the light until you get the hole just the right size so it fits.

To make sure you have the hole the right size you will want to first place it in the grommet, # A54GB, and then in the hole. Otherwise, if you just used the light or the grommet you would not get an accurate measure of if the light will fit or not.

This light also uses pigtail # A46PB. Black is the power wire and white is the ground.
