2023 Chevy Tahoe Tire Chain Recommendation for 275/60R20 Tires

Question:

i have a 2023 cheyv tahoe z71 with tire size 275/60 R20. my manual states do not use tire chains also it says inch use another tupe of traction device only if manufacturer recommends it for tire size combination and road conditions It also states to install them on the rear tires 1. what alternative traction devices are available to meet these clearance issues? 2. i see contradictions which say that traction devices should be put on all 4 wheels. 3. what is recommended in california for a R3 road condition, traction devices on rear 2 wheels or all 4 wheels? thank you

Since your 2023 Chevy Tahoe has clearance issues the only tire chain/traction device I recommend using are the Konig K-Summit Tire Chains # KON24FR as they mount using the lugs nuts on your wheel and the chain only sits on the tread of the tire so there isn't a chance for it to come into contact with things on the backside of the tire (like the brake lines).

The manual states to only install the chains on the rear tires so if you install some of these on the front tires you'll run the risk of damaging the vehicle and Chevy likely won't cover that under the warranty - the only time you would even want to consider to try installing chains on the front tires is if your state law requires it (so you'll need to make sure you're familiar with all of your regulations).

If the manual and the State law contradict each other then it falls under user-discretion as I wouldn't be able to give the go-ahead either way.

Attached is a review video of the K-Summit tire chains for you to check out.
