Troubleshooting 2022 Grand Design Solar Kit Not Working After Adding Batteries
Question:
I have a 2022 grand design reflection with a factory, installed solar panel and charge controller and battery monitor. Should there be an in-line fuse coming from the solar panel? I added two more batteries and now my solar panel will not charge any of the batteries in the battery monitors just showing discharge of batteries there’s no charge.

Yes, you should have a fuse between the battery bank and each of the following:
- Solar Charge Controller
- Inverter
- Converter
I'm attaching a clip from the instructions for the Go Power Weekender Solar Charging System # 34282183 that you can check out.
Be sure that you have your new batteries connected to your battery bank the right way. If you connect them in Parallel then that keeps the Voltage the same but if you connect them in Series it increases the Voltage. It's also worth mentioning that you want them all to be the same type as well. You don't want to mix Lead Acid with Lithium style batteries.
