Can 6V Batteries Run an RV Fridge Just Fine  

Question:

i have 2 6v agm batteries new....my refrigerator motherboard goes off when the refrigerator beeps on auto. in propane mode the propane will go out, mother board clicks and the control panel goes into check mode all at the same time. is the 6v batteries enough power or should i have a different set up. the 6v batteries are both good with a gopower solar panel 190w. thanks

There are a number of things it could be but the first thing to check is how your batteries are connected. Since they are 6V batteries you want them wired in series so that they become a 12V system. Check out the attached photos to see the difference between parallel and series wiring for batteries.

Your 190W Go Power Overlander Solar Charging System, like the Weekender # 34282183, should do a good job keeping your battery bank charged but it all also depends on how many other appliances you have running and if your battery bank is full or not. If your batteries have a low charge then that could be a contributing factor.

If you can let me know what brand and model fridge you have I can see if we have any more specifics, granted we carry that brand. Otherwise I also recommend reaching out to the manufacturer of the fridge as well as looking at forums where others have tried resolving this issue with your fridge as those can be very insightful as well.
