Should All The Pins and Clips On The B&W Tow & Stow 2.5" Hitch Be Replaced With Locking Pins?

Question:

I have a BandW tow and stow 2.5 shank with a 7in drop. I was looking at getting a locking pin for the hitch and the ball platform. Is a locking pin necessary for the ball platform? I don’t believe it is but how hard would it be for some to steal the ball platform with the whole hitch locked?

I recommend using the InfiniteRule Locking Pins # 34061775-D with your B&W Tow & Stow # BWTS20049B. This will allow you to secure all parts of the hitch. The ball portion of your hitch could still be removed by removing the included pin and the snap ring which holds the ball in the adjustable mount. Just as well as the vertical adjustment pins could be pulled out and the track pins removed.
