Are Replacement Cables And Handles Available For A Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve

Question:

The T handle that opens and closes my galley water valve on my Forest River Blue ridge 5th wheel has broken off of the cable. Do you carry a replacement handle and cable?

Depending on the brand of the gate valve you will either be able to replace just the cable and handle or will have to replace the entire valve/cable/handle. LaSalle Bristol builds the cables into the housing for the valve, making them essentially trash if the cable ever becomes detached. Valterra uses a nut to hold the cable to valve, allowing for replacements to be swapped in. If you have a Valterra branded valve then you can use the following cables:

72" # TC72PB
96" # TC96PB
120" # TC120PB

If you have LaSalle Bristol then you'll have to replace the entire gate valve as well. I recommend switching over to Valterra to make any future issues easier to fix. We currently offer a 72" # TC172 and 120" # VAL22RB option. When replacing the valve you won't have to cut or glue the fittings, simply remove the four bolts holding the valve in place, swap in the new valve, and reuse the four bolts you previously removed.
