Yes, you can absolutely replace a 13,500 btu air conditioner with a 15000 btu unit. The 15K btu units might weigh a few lbs more. They also will draw slightly more amperage. So they are undoubtedly interchangeable, as long as you can power it.

For example the Advent 13.5K air conditioner # ACM135 draws 12.6 amps when running. The 15K unit # ACM150 draws 15 amps when running.
