Removing Rusted Bolts On The Yakima Landing Pad 15 Y00241

Question:

I have a 2016 Subaru Outback with the Yakima Landing Pad 15 installed for about 7 years. I am trying to remove them and three came out easily but the bolt wont come out on the right rear pad. It seems to be rusted in. I have been soaking it with Kroil for several days but am concerned about damaging the car or pad with much more agressive methods. I am also worried about breaking something if I tug on it too hard. Any ideas about how to get it out?

That is going to be a tricky one of the bolts on your Yakima Landing Pad 15 # Y00241 is rusted in place. We generally will use BP blaster on rusted bolts and it has proven to be pretty effective. If that does not do the trick you could try using a left handed drill bit of screw extractor tool like the # PT92CV. This kit includes 5 reverse drill bits and 5 screw extractors which will allow you to remove most screw sizes.
