Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2008 KZ Montego Bay 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
i have a 2008 KZ MONTEGO BAY 5TH WHEEL. I WANT TO PUT A HITCH ON THE BACK. WHAT HITCH DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR THIS?

For a hitch on a RV or trailer I recommend a frame mounted hitch because they are more stable than bumper mount hitches. A lot of bumpers are not even rated for weight carrying so the safe bet all around is a frame mount hitch.
The most versatile frame mount hitch that we offer is Curt hitch # 13703. It fits frame widths (measured from outside of one frame rail to the outside of the other) of 22 inches to 72 inches. It fits box frames, C-Channel frames, and I-Beam frames. And it can be bolted or welded on. Welding should be performed by a qualified professional welder.
I have included links to the instructions and to a video showing an installation of the hitch.
If you are using the hitch for something like a cargo carrier or bike rack Curt says that you will need to use a stabilization strap # 18050. The strap reduces some of the stress on the hitch. And at the back of a 5th wheel trailer I strongly recommend it because there is a lot of movement at the back of a trailer due to the distance between the rear axle and the back of the trailer.
