I recommend installing the Curt 4-Way Wiring # C59236 when you install the receiver. This is will control the tail lights on most small trailers you might tow as well as allow for Auxiliary Lights # C53201 if your hitch mounted accessory impairs the view of your tail lights to other drivers.
