What is Needed to Get a Monitor for the Roadmaster InvisiBrake in a Motorhome if the Toad has Parts
Question:
We just traded in our old motor home on a new motor home. Im going to order a new 50foot and monitor light. my existing Invisi brake is still in my towed Chevrolet Equinox. Im thinking of also ordering the optional adapter RM # 8700-9530. My existing Invisi Brake is model #8700 serial #o2o459 based on what Im reading on your site. Your staff is outstanding as in the past they walked me through all my projects. Am I headed in the right direction , and do you think I need any additional parts? thank You.

Thank you for reaching out, it sounds like you have everything in place on your Equinox and just need the motorhome side. The Roadmaster 2nd Motorhome Monitor/Alarm Kit # RM-98850 would take care of that if you are wanting it to operate the same as if you got a new Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700.
However, since you mentioned the Optional Adapter for Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700-9530, it sounds like you may looking at upgrading to the Roadmaster Universal Brake Monitor # RM-9530. The # RM-9530 communicates wirelessly, meaning you would not need the 50' monitor cable like what is included in the 2nd motorhome kit.
The Optional Adapter for Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700-9530 is needed to use the Roadmaster Universal Brake Monitor # RM-9530 if your serial number is less than 21603.
