In order to add a brake controller to your 1989 Winnebago Super Chief you will have to start by adding a 4-way. All of this will require hardwiring for installation. For a 4-way you can use the Curt # C59236.
Once the 4-way is installed you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This comes with the adapter, wiring, circuit breakers, and everything else you need for installation.
It only has 25' of wire so depending on the length of your motorhome you may need addtitional wire use # 10-2-1. This will allow you to install a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. The P3 is incredibly reliable with an easy to read screen and built-in safeguards to protect your motorhome and the controller.
