Base Plate Kit Recommendation for 2023 Chevy Equinox RS

Now I am confused. Yesterday I asked via your live chat for a recommendation for base plate to use on my 2023 Equinox RS. I noted that previously I had read numerous concerns on the Blue Ox base plate and so was comparing the Roadmaster, Demco and Curt. I was told the Roadmaster would be the best choice. Today, while planning to place an order I saw the post by your expert Kevin C that the Roadmaster would require significant modification to various car parts including removal of the active air damper and that this would likely cause some trepidation in mechanics concerning install. This being the case is the Roadmaster EZ 523193-5 still the best choice? I should also note that RoadMaster recommends this same base plate for the 2023 Equinox RS. PS: I have been given a near new NSA Brute Elite II tow bar with surge brake that is already equipped to work with a Roadmaster base plate.

The Roadmaster base plate kit part # RM-523193-5 is the best option for your 2023 Chevy Equinox RS. It does not actually require any additional modification beyond what other kits require and since you have a tow bar already setup for a Roadmaster base plate kit it's for sure the way to go for you.
