1-1/4 Inch to 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Adapter to Carry a 2 Inch Bike Rack with a 2011 Jetta Sportwagen
Question:
I have a 2011 Jetta Sportwagen and a Kuat bike rack with 2inch receiver. Please tell me what is best trailer hitch adapter for my vehicle? Thanks

One of our most popular 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch trailer hitch adapters is the Brophy Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter, # HT5R. This adapter provides a 5 inch rise for improved ground clearance.
Keep in mind, using a trailer hitch adapter or extender will decrease the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50 percent. All of the trailer hitches we offer for your 2014 Jetta Sportwagen are Class I trailer hitches with a maximum tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. Using an adapter will reduce this capacity to 100 lbs, so you will want to make sure the weight of your bike rack and bikes does not exceed the reduced capacity.
If you are also looking for a trailer hitch, we have the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4"
Item # C11474. We have installed it on a newer 2017 Jetta Sportwagen, so I attached the installation video and the installation instructions for you to check out.
If you choose to go with the Curt Hitch, part # C11474, Curt requires a support strap, like part # 18050, to be used with all non-trailer loads.
