Where Does the 15-Amp Fuse for the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness Go?

Question:

I installed a Curt wire harness for 2020 Mazda CX9 a year or so ago, I am not sure my wife used it but I thought I tested it and it worked. Tried to use it this week, trailer lights did not work, confirmed they worked off my Chevy. The Mazda wire connections are all good. I look at the info on your website today, it says just clip in AND THEN GO INSTALL FUSE AT LOCATION PROVIDED PER INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS. Your online instructions do not include a fuse installation, neither do the instructions provided with my harness. The fuse sounds like a goose chase, I think I tested after install and it worked. But it does not work now. Before I order a replacement maybe alternate versus Curt, is it common for these to burn out. I found the module was no longer taped in place, maybe it banged around?

I believe the fuse referenced on your Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56338 is the fuse that goes into the fuse holder on the power (red) wire.

I would check there first and see if the fuse has blown which sounds like it may have if all your wiring is good and you're still getting no power.

If it has blown, simply replace the 15-amp fuse with another and check for functionality. If you're still having issues after checking this, come back and we'll go from there.
