How to Connect RV Oval Porch and Utility Light to a Trailer Battery
Question:
I need a porch light and I see that the porch light has a black and white pigtail wires. How are these connected to the 12v battery? I was told to use 18 gauge wire from an automotive store. But what I need to know is how do I physically connect it up once I buy the wire? You were very helpful with my last question. Thank you.

On porch light # RVPL7C the white wire is the ground and will need to attach to a clean metal surface. The black wire is the power wire. You can use some automotive wire to go from the light to the battery. Once at the battery you could use something like the battery terminal # DW05312.
There are a couple of studs on this terminal and you could place a ring terminal on the end of the wire, remove a stud, then put the wire over the stud and thread it back into place. If your battery already has a terminal with studs on the positive post then you just need a ring terminal.
The auto parts store probably also has something similar that you could use to attach to the positive battery terminal.
