Weight Distribution Recommendation for Coachmen 238BHS
Question:
Hello, We have an f150 v8, super crew, 5.0, 3.55 axle ratio, shorter bed, and gvwr 7600 lbs. Our camper trailer is the coachmen 238 BHS, UVW 5314 lbs, 259. What size weight distribution and hitch do we need and anything else like a sway bar? What all goes into the GvWR for the trailer? Fresh water, cargo ? Anything else? Thank you.

Expert Reply:
Based on the GVWR of the Coachmen 238BHS and the hitch weight the Curt MV weight distribution system part # C17062 would work great as it has a tongue weight range of 800-1,000 lbs and comes with a friction control sway control.
The GVWR of a trailer would include basically what you mentioned of water in the tanks and any cargo weight.
