Parts Needed For Flat Towing 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sport Behind 2008 Forest River Sunseeker Class C RV

Question:

We have a 2008 Ford 450 chassis Sunseeker forest river RV and a 2013 Jeep wrangler sport with big oversized tires. I want to flat tow the jerp behind our Class C RV. We are retired and in our seventies and want the easiest and safest hitch hookup we can afford. It should include the braking system but also I’ll point out that the RV has a braking box in the RV somewhere around the driver’s chair. It may or may not work. We bought it used and do not know. Saying that, it should have a supplemental braking system working. So hope this is the info you need to give us advice. Easiest is key here as we are both disabled and dont need the most expensive but the most safe and easiest to hook up is critical. Thank you. P.S. if you need pictures then just please let me know.

For the safest and easiest setup you will need the Roadmaster Base Plate # RM-521448-5 for your 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sport. This will connect to your 2008 Forest River Sunseeker with the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676. These bars have an aluminum construction for light weight along with lights for better visibility and channels to hold the cables. The tow bars will need to be within 3" of level from your camper to the front of your Jeep. We do have High-Low adapters which you may need to keep the bars as level as possible.
4" Rise/Drop # RM-048-4
6" Rise/Drop # RM-048-6
8" Rise/Drop # RM-048-8
10-1/4" Rise/Drop # RM-048-10

The Roadmaster Accessory Kit for Nighthawk Tow Bars # RM-9284-2 will provide you with the electrical needed for the lights as well as a cover, lube, locks and storage bag for the parts. You will also want to use a Charge Line # RM-156-25 to maintain your battery while flat towing. This will prevent the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR from draining your battery while towing. Once the Demco is installed and set up you will only need to flip a switch in your cab to activate the braking system when you begin flat towing.

The in cab brake controller you have is only going to be for use when towing trailers that have electric brakes. It will not work with supplemental brake systems which are needed for your Jeep.
