Comparing Gen-Y and Curt 14 Long Hitch Extenders For a 2 Receiver
Question:
Hi there. Im comparing 2inch hitch extenders and had a question. Is there a reason NOT to go with the Gen Y hitch GY89SR over the Curt C45795? The Gen Y seems to have a higher capacity and since price is comparable I just was wondering why I wouldnt just go with the one that has the highest capacity. My guess is that they have different weights, but wasn't able to see that in the descriptions. Thanks for your help!

The Gen-Y Hitch Hitch Extender # GY89SR is far superior to the Curt Hitch Extender # C45795. The Gen-Y is made in the USA, comes with a lifetime warranty and as you pointed out has the higher 10,000lb trailer capacity with up to 500lbs of tongue weight. The Curt is only rated for 3,500lbs of trailer weight and 350lbs of tongue weight. It also only comes with a 1-year warranty. For weight the Gen-Y only weighs 16lbs while the Curt weighs 18lbs.
