Troubleshooting Mismatched Wiring Connectors on a 2011 Ford Escape
Question:
I have a 2011 Ford Escape that appears to have a factory connection for trailer wiring pig-tail. I need help finding the right connector. I would like to send you images of what I bought, and of what the car has for a connector so as to find a solution. Looks like I cant attach images here. Please advise.

Thank you for the photos! I'd be more than happy to help you get the wiring figured out for your 2011 Ford Escape!
The Tekonsha Connector # 118251 you purchased is the correct one for your Escape if you have the tow package. The connector this plugs into is located behind the driver's side bumper and will match exactly what you received. I'm not sure what plug it is that you found, but it definitely isn't for the trailer wiring (unless Ford gave you a completely different connection than should be on your vehicle). I've attached an installation video of this on a 2009 Escape for you to check out.
The photo you sent in of your wiring and the box is correct for a tow package setup. Tekonsha doesn't always match the photo of the wiring with the product inside which is a little annoying but that's why the photo on the box looks different than what you actually have.
If your Escape doesn't have the tow package then you need the Tekonsha T-One Wiring Kit # 118551 instead, which tees in behind your tail lights and has the power lead that you run up to your battery. Not everyone likes having that power lead but it is necessary for the trailer lights to work properly.
