Hopkins Smart Hitch HM50002 Camera Installation on 2011 Toyota Tundra
Question:
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Will the included wiring harness adapter fit the factory tow package 7-way connector in the back of my Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior? Thanks for your assistance,

Yes, the connectors that plug in line with a vehicle 7-Way on the Hopkins Smart Hitch, # HM50002, will fit the factory 7-Way on your 2011 Toyota Tundra. Not too long ago, the major vehicle manufacturers all started using the same style of connectors for the 7-Ways, including Toyota, so no worries there.
You just have to make sure that the reverse light circuit is working because that is how the camera knows to turn on. When the vehicle is placed in reverse the camera and monitor will turn on.
To test your 7-Way to see if the reverse light circuit is functional, first fully apply the emergency brake in the truck. Make sure the wheels are chocked so the truck cannot move. Have someone sit in the truck with their foot on the brake and then place the truck in reverse while holding in the brake pedal.
Then test the center pin of the 7-Way with a circuit tester such as # PTW2992. If it lights up with the vehicle in reverse that indicates it is functional. After testing be sure to put the truck back in park! I have included a link to a video showing a typical installation for you.
