There are a few things you will need to check on your trailer tail lights. First is the simplest and checking the light bulbs to ensure they are not burnt out. The tail light bulbs will have 2 filaments inside the light for the running lights and the brake/turn light. While you have the cover off you will want to verify the correct filament is getting power on the light. If the brighter filament is getting power when the running lights are on it will be hard to see the lower power filament if that is activated off the brake light/turn signals.
If you do not have power going to the light you can use a Test Light # PTW2993 to check for power on the harness to determine if the harness is getting power from your tow vehicle or if the wiring had become damaged on your harness and is shorting out.
