Expert Reply:
To install the Hayes Engage Trailer Brake Controller # HA81760 on your 2012 Cadillac Escalade EXT you will need the Universal Wiring Adapter # HA81789-HBC. The wires for the installation are bundled under the dash as there is not a factory connector like some other vehicles. I have linked below an installation video for a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 on a 2009 Escalade as it will show you the location of the wiring. The video also shows you the wiring under the hood which attach to the engine compartment fuse box with a M6 # 185916 and M8 # 185917 flange nut.
