How To Attach Your Safety Cables When Using D-Ring Adapters To Flat Tow
Question:
I am looking to purchase the Blue Ox Off-Road Bumper Adapters for Blue Ox Motorhome Mounted Tow Bars for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler. Set up and installation seems to be straight forward but there is one thing that I am missing. How or where do I attach the safety cables to the Jeep? A typical baseplate has eye ring attachments but the bumper adapter does not.

Typically when using D-Ring adapters # BX88357 you'll have to snake some shorter cables, like # RM-910648-20 around the frame rail of the vehicle and then out to the front of the vehicle to connect to your safety cables. There's no easy definitive answer on how to do this since there's too many variables between each model and the aftermarket bumper so it may take you a bit of time to figure out the best way with your specific setup.
I've attached a short video below Conner made with a Roadmaster D-Ring Adapter where he goes over the struggle of connecting the safety cables and what he did to get them attached that I think could be useful to your situation.
I do also want to note that you should verify with the bumper manufacturer that the bumper is rated for flat towing before making any purchases.
