The Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution # RP66072 you looked at would actually be perfect for your 2012 Jayco Jay Feather Ultra Lite X17 Z. The most important factor when choosing a WDH is your tongue weight. Your trailer has tongue weight of 400 lbs and weight of 2,825 lbs when unloaded and your gross vehicle weight rating is 3,500 lbs.
Based on that information you're looking at a tongue weight of 400-500 lbs. However, I do recommend measuring your tongue weight using a scale like the # e99044. You also should know that this includes the weight of any cargo behind your rear axle.
The Strait-Line has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs so that puts you in the middle of the range whether your trailer is loaded or empty. It also gives you a bit of a buffer for cargo in the truck bed. As far as sway control is concerned, the Strait-Line is one of the best. The cams do an excellent job of stopping sway before it begins, significantly improving your towing experience.
Since this does not include a shank you will need the Reese Weight Dist Shank # RP54970. You will also need # A-90 for a 2" ball or # 19286 for a 2-5/16" ball.
