Can You Use Low Profile Tire Chains on a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan with 255/40R20 Tires

Question:

Im seeing in my manual for my 2020/2021 VW Tiguan Se R-line that I can only use snow chains if I have 235/50 R19 tires. Mine is equipped with 255/40R20 so my question is can I use one of these low clearance smaller chain sets or do I really have to buy new tires for my new vehicle just so I can use tire chains? I was thinking of getting these or the konig pro 252 XG-12.

Per the owner's manual, you can't use any tire chains even if they are low profile/clearance on a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan with 255/40R20 tires. I can't recommend this but if I were you, I would go with a set of class s rated chains like the Konig Tire Chains part # TH2004205117 and check for clearance prior to use. It's not out of the ordinary for vehicle manufactures to restrict use of tire chains but if you are going to an area where you need them you really don't have a choice. This is why I recommend just doing your due diligence beforehand i.e. checking for clearance and there shouldn't be any issues.
