Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 2019 Toyota Highlander Used With Weight Distribution Hitch
Question:
Looking at the Curt C13394 hitch, it fits my vehicle, but I see different opinions if it can be used with a weight distribution hitch or not. I prefer to use the weight distribution not because the weight is to high, but because the trailer pulls nicer with it. Is the 13394

I recommend using our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98844 with your 2019 Toyota Highlander. This receiver is rated for use with weight distribution while the Curt # C13394 is not. Our etrailer receiver is capable of withstanding the torsion placed on the receiver tube when using a Weight Distribution Hitch # EQ37060ET. The Curt receiver was not designed to be capable of resisting these forces. Those using them with weight distribution do risk damage to the receiver and trailer and will be held responsible as they are using the receiver in a manner it is not rated for.
The Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness # 22119 will allow you to wire in a 7-way trailer connector. This will allow you to use a Trailer Brake Controller # RED63RR with the Mounting Panel # 331-TPSI-002 for a clean factory appearance.
