When installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional do you remove the existing black positive wire going to the battery for the existing Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector?

You are not to remove the power wire of the 4-way wiring harness when wiring in a brake controller like the Prodigy P3 part # 90195. That wire powers the trailer taillights whereas the brake controller needs it's own power wire ran to the battery.
